The Masons of South Dakota have long been committed to children and families through our scholarship program, children's learning centers, model student assistance program and sponsorship of youth groups. The Masons of South Dakota have been assisting children for a number of years. We are proud to offer an additional program called SDCHIP. This program consits of a standardized child information sheet, still photograph, short video interview, laser fingerprints,DNA swab and dental imprints called Toothprints.Toothprints is a technique developed by David Tesini, a Massachusetts children's Dentist and incorporated into CHIP by Dr. David Harte, a Massachusetts Freemason. SDCHIP, which is a part of MasoniCHIP International, has been recognized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as the most comprehensive child identification system available.

A parent's worst nightmare is the disappearance of a child. In today's society with over one million children being reported missing each year, we are committed to helping address this problem.

SDCHIP is designed to give families a measure of protection against this ever-increasing problem. SDCHIP provides Law Enforcement with important tools to assist in the speedy and safe recovery of a missing child. Through the benevolence of the Masons of South Dakota and its membership along with our cooperating partners we are pleased to present this service free of charge to the public. The Masons of South Dakota are committed to offering this program to the families of South Dakota on an ongoing basis.

The South Dakota Child Identification Program addresses the alarming fact that more and more children are reported missing each year. While most are found, many are not. SDCHIP is part of MASONICHIP, an initiative of the Masons of North American, that generates completed packages of various identifying items of children for parents or guardians. ALL of the identifying materials generated by the program are given to the childs family. We retain none of the information. The program is offered to the public at NO CHARGE.
